School Games Gold Award!

Kings Heath Primary school Strikes Gold!

We are delighted to announce that we, Kings Heath Primary, have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2024/25 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

All members of Key Stage 2 participated half-termly at level one of the school games. We are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.

The School Games Values are an integral part of the scheme and all of our competitions have a focus against one of these values. The values that both The School Games and Kings Heath Primary School promote are: Honesty, Self-Belief, Passion, Teamwork, Respect and Determination. Children who have shown exceptional work towards one of these values will, next year, be eligible to receive a small award (badge) as recognition for their amazing work.

As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.

Moving forward we aim to maintain our 'Gold' status and access more inter school competitions and fixtures.

Thanks for all of your support with PE, School Sport and Physical Activity at Kings Heath Primary School.
